Film Makers
One of the big influences for creating the Toronto Film Project is the many interviews and conversations with local film makers who have expressed statements like "Well I know many other film makers, but every time I want to make a film I can't find anyone to help me." The Film Project wants to remedy this by creating a self contained film community with film makers, editors, cinematographers, etc as well as the talent. All within reach in a drop in centre catering to film makers. Film makers can produce projects in two methods within the Toronto Short Film Project. First by looking throught the membership to find the cast and crew they need to start shooting the film. Also there is the House League method where people are put in crews in a random selection process and work with that group to create their short. (See House Prod. page) The final step after the films are completed is the marketing and sale of the shorts. This is where the Short Film Project admin. comes in with the contacts of buyers that are looking to license the shorts for broadcast in both local and international markets. One aspect we are considering is a tv program which focuses on the inner workings of the Project and presents the many shorts that are produced here. Film makers, when you want to screen your shorts, you may book our screening theatre free of charge to present your shorts. One of the many perks of being a member. Certain member film makers will be asked to sit on our advisory board which explores new ideas and policy for improving the Toronto Short Film Project. ![]() |
