Joe Rafla has worked on contract as a script analyst for
Telefilm Canada where he as analyzed dozens of scripts.
He has also worked as a script editor for such award winning
production companies as Cirrus Communications, amongst other.

AN INTRODUCTION TO SCREEN WRITNG
This four hour workshop will introduce you to some of the
basic elements of writing a screenplay and developing
strategies to get it into the 'right' hands for production.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE

The first three hours or so we will cover the following topics:
· What to write?

· Is it filmic?

· The basic elements I have to play with:
Structure, Characters, Plot, Dialogue, Theme,
Premise, Visual treatment, Pacing,

· A short Bibliography.

· Logline, Synopsis, Treatment.

The last hour of the workshop will cover the following:

· How to protect it.
· Who to approach and how.
· Taking criticism and what to do with it.
· Writing is re-writing.
· The art of the pitch..
